A Message from Founder Jon Albert

Unfortunately, there is a huge need for this Foundation. Unfortunately, thousands of children WILL lose their Mom or Dad to cancer this year alone.

There is a significant opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many. These children and these families (together) deserve to call timeout from the throes, hardship and miserable anticipation of losing their Mom or Dad.

Our first year objective was twofold:

  1. Confirm we are making a true, profound impact in the lives or these families facing late stage (limited life remaining) cancer; and
  2. Establish national credibility and praise.

Mission accomplished on both fronts. The support and validation we receive centers on:

  • How many are touched by how many children will lose their Mom or Dad to cancer.
  • How this 501(c)(3)non-profit organization is the only one of its kind nationally built to enable these families to regain some normalcy and live in the moment.
  • How JAJF addresses a large, overlooked population and fills a void: children who suffer alongside their Mom and Dad (they all become patients of cancer).
  • How any child who will lose his/her Mommy or Daddy becomes privileged...entitled to call timeout and balance the dreadful final memories of dying from cancer with happy memories of LIVING with family.
  • The patient referral network...the coalition of leading and nationally acclaimed cancer hospitals and centers that approach the families in a private, discreet way. JAJF is not in the medical assessment business.  Rather we receive all of our families strictly  from the network we have established. Oncologists and hospitals love The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation because we add value to their complete patient care services. We serve as a resource partner helping the Oncology community fly in the face of Late Stage Cancer with a smile...with joy...with a return to normalcy for these families...
  • How lean, straightforward, efficient and tangible The Foundation is
  • How the Foundation is a "preventative health plan" for so many children as they face the inevitable grieving process.

The Foundation's ability to impact the lives of thousands of children who will lose their Mom or Dad to cancer is a function of how many people are touched by what we can achieve.

Proactive referrals and entrees are essential.  I will never be bashful about asking to spread the word, email the Foundation's details and share the brief videos. As the Foundation's purpose and ability to make a true impact is shared with decision makers, wealthy people, well connected and well intentioned people who can become significant financial and/or in-kind supporters, imagine the support the Foundation can receive.  Imagine the lives we will continue to touch.

We are on our way to something quite responsible, special, tangible and meaningful.

Contemplate how many children WILL lose their Mom or Dad to cancer. They are losing their security blankets - their heroes.  Please consider supporting the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation.

As Jill said just weeks before she passed away: "The children need a break...they just need a break...and so do the parents. This Foundation needs to continue...it must."
