Children grieve much differently from adults when a parent is ill. Their view of death and dying is age-related and may be very concrete. The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation creates the ability for families to do something meaningful that will live on in cherished memories and photographs for each child's lifetime. Rather than solely remembering Mommy or Daddy's illness negatively, their memories will now also include special times provided by the Foundation that will stay with them forever.

Resources
While there are many resources and support services available addressing cancer patients' medical, spiritual, financial, and psychological needs, through stringent research and analysis of the oncology community nationally, we discovered a critical need for a resource to focus on specifically on the family structure as a whole, particularly in offering memory opportunities for children at a point where the family can experience and share the opportunity together. The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation is focused on helping families create CHERISHED memories together… WHILE THEY CAN.
JAJF provides a continuum in the cancer process, forming a connection from Oncology treatment to an ESSENTIAL, POSITIVE FAMILY timeout from cancer back to the critical late stage treatment.
JAJF now has 132 leading cancer hospitals and centers across the country referring families in 42 states. They gain their families strictly through this national coalition accepting referrals only from the Oncologists... a controlled process unique to their organization (City of Hope, UCLA, MD Anderson, Vanderbilt, Duke, Jay Monahan Cancer Center, Sloane Kettering, Cornell, Moffitt, Emory etc.) Creating truly cherished, indispensable memories is an essential part of the cancer treatment for these young families as endorsed and “prescribed” by the oncology community. View the complete list of JAJF's Oncology Coalition Partners.
JAJF has now treated more than 400 families across the nation to cherished time together in Hawaii, Arizona, NYC, South Florida, Orlando, Chicago, the Caribbean, Colorado and up and down California.
JAJF is on the smile, laughter, joy, positive side of late stage cancer. They’re on the beach, sunset, resort, dude ranch, attractions, Broadway, ballgame and concert side... the living side of dying from cancer... they are a celebration of being together as a family.
Despite the advances in cancer research, thousands of young Moms and Dads will die each year from cancer, leaving behind grieving children. There is a clear, unfulfilled need.
Many reputable organizations have aligned with and validated the need for JAJF. Their praise and support is valuable. Please check back from time to time to gain more direct links to resources. A partial list for now of other wonderful and important organizations:
